Tons0fun wasn’t entirely sure there was a need before he started but he knew he wanted it.

So he set to work to create what would become known as Bay Area Live. With his previous experience running an Austin chapter of Improv Everywhere, a flashmob style group that did frequent events, and managing the community for AJSA, AngryJoeShow. Chris explains the biggest challenge to starting up and still can be a challenge is finding local broadcasters and content creators.

Looking back he says he wouldn’t change much, he only says he wishes he’d have collected better stats on membership and attendance from the start. That is his biggest piece of advice for any meetup organizer starting out, collect all the information you can, it could be useful later.

He shares that his vision has changed from just a group of passionate broadcasters and content creators to the many possibilities for it’s members and where it could go.
