Some People can never be befriended

There was a time in my life when I was feeling really down. There was this girl who had requested me to be friends with her for around 20 times, made me feel that we were best friends, and then suddenly cut me off. I was devastated. I couldn’t understand what had happened. After a long time feeling very bad about it — I had come to the realization that it wasn’t due to any mistake of mine, but because of some problem from her end. But even then, I wasn’t satisfied, I really wanted to know what caused her to behave the way she did. I posted a lot about what happened between us on different sub-reddits. Got a wide variety of different responses. One of the comments suggested that she may be a sociopath.

I read about sociopaths online and realized that she must be one. I then understood that she had used the “gas lighting” technique on me. She matched 100% on all characteristics of a sociopath, without any exception, not only in regard to how she behaved with me, but also how she behaved with everyone, even with people she didn’t manipulate and was generally nice to.

Since then, I have told about her to every therapist I have ever had. Everytime, they reply back saying that I can’t label her as a “Sociopath” or as any personality disorder. It can only be done by a licensed clinical psychologist who has had enough sessions with her. And so, okay. I will not say that she is a sociopath. But there is something that I can and will say — “Some people can never be befriended”. Maybe it’s because they are a sociopath or have some other personality disorder or for whatever other reason.
