Flowers Communications Group Celebrates Asian Pacific American Heritage Month

Flowers Communications Group, the multicultural integrated marketing agency in downtown Chicago, celebrates Asian Pacific American Heritage Month by showcasing contributions in the film industry. Hollywood is one of the biggest ways multicultural storytelling can reach the masses.

They kicked off the first week with a screening of “Crazy Rich Asians” which is the first movie in 25 years that had a majority Asian cast in the Western film industry, after “Joy Luck Club” — which they screened a week after.

Alongside the screening of both iconic films, FCG has set up an origami station, sake tasting, and ordered Vietnamese coffee and Chinese appetizers. While these fun events boost morale within the agency, they also help the employees learn and appreciate the various cultures throughout Asia and the Pacific.

I asked Adriana Rodriguez and Angelica Ramirez their thoughts on why FCG celebrating #APAHM was so important. Stay tuned for more information on Asian Pacific American Heritage Month.
