My Writing Pieces Increased When I Got Rid of My Set Schedule

Writing on my iPhone has saved me time. I used to write after I came home from work, after dinner, and chores, and finally settled at about 9:00 pm. For several months I was fine, but lack of sleep…

Interest vs Commitment

What is the difference between interest and commitment?

Interest is wanting to know something but does not particularly need it. You could be curious about it but have no intention to have it.

People are interested in a book, maybe this book was recommended by someone, or you happen to see or read about it. And so you ask yourself, “that might be a good read.” In the end, even if you end up buying it. It ends up in the corner of the house, serving as a dust gatherer.

Another way to see the interest is when you go to a well-known grocery store such as Costco, Sam’s club in some cases, Wholefoods and such. You find yourself caught in line to try a sample out of every try booth, knowing you have no intention of buying whatever they are giving you to sample. You still do it out of curiosity.

You see, interest is when you want something, but later it becomes straightforward to make excuses to do it then. And this usually becomes a hobby with most things in life.

Commitment, on the other hand, is very different.

When you are committed, you don’t only try. You fight for it every day to make it work. Your attendance rate is near perfect most of the time. You stop making excuses and get things done right away. You commit to whatever you buy. Whatever you invest in, You take action towards opportunities and your goals. You invest in your personal goals and keep trying and trying until you make it work, and it becomes a win.

You ignore negativity and strive for what you believe in.

When you ignore negativity surroundings and negative thoughts, you prosper the most in your commitment. You have to decide in your life whether you want to continue your interest or try it out to the end. Because what purpose does anything have if you only put 20% of your effort into it? What are you getting back out of it?

You get what you give.

At a workplace, you are not expected to put in less than your 100% of work, if you were found doing only around 40% of your work effort, why should you deserve to be paid in 100% as well?

Whatever you get out of something will all rely on your efforts. The more you put in, the more RESULTS you are likely to get out of it.
