My Yugioh Deck Building Strategy

It’s not complicated if you know exactly how to group certain cards.

One of the common strategies I came up with is linking my cards into certain groups whether it is dragons, warriors even monsters by a certain level. When I was playing Yugioh Legacy of the Duelist, I had about 20 decks; some of them across many seasons of the game.

However, what I love about Master Duel is that you can create a deck or two and it’ll be good for the rest of the game or whatever aspect of the game you’re playing whether it is the campaign mode or playing against somebody’s kid across the universe.

Like if I was going to build a Warrior Deck, I’d have Warrior Monsters and nothing but. A general rule that I always follow is that I don’t have monsters in my deck unless they’re level 4 and their attack power is 1700 and above.

The only time I’d ever put a monster that has an attack of 1600 or lower in my deck is if they were a game changer with a kick ass special ability, take King’s Knight.

King’s Knight is a Warrior with 1600 Attack, if Queen’s Knight is on the field then King’s Knight’s special ability activates which brings out Jack’s Knight. Fusing them together will give you Arcana Knight Joker, his special ability is killer; it automatically counters any card that your opponent plays.

Thing is, you have to have the card you want your monster to counter. Spell, Trap or even Effect Monster.

Another example is if I wanted to summon Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon. The first thing I would do is to have Galaxy Eyes Cloudragon, if this monster is discarded to the graveyard, you’ll be able to summon Galaxy Eyes Photon Dragon with ease.

Now, over the time that I’ve been playing Yugioh games, I’ve learned a few hard lessons. First, having Lv. 4 monsters with attack powers of 1700+ is a great boon, it is a great way to overpower your enemies quickly.

Second, have only 1 Lv. 5, 6, 7 and 8 Monster. In the case of a ritual monster, you’re allowed two but even then I’d stick to just one. As you saw in the pic above, that’s my ace beastie; my 4000 point invincible beat stick!
