What Weighs Us Down?

Day 5/14 of (self) reflection.

How much of what weighs us down
Is not ours to carry?
Leaving us to choke and drown,
Is it a choice or involuntary?

How much of what we do today
Is true to who we are?
Is it only a role we portray,
Is truth within, or is it far?

Life is lived at a subtle level
While we miss out a lot,
Feeling scared and unsettled,
Focused on what love is not…
