You Are Never Too Far from a Fresh Start

It’s okay to start over if you need to.

I worked in the insurance industry for 18 years. While I loved many of my clients, I hated the business. Every day was painful, but I stuck with it because it was what I knew. I felt I had to stick with insurance because it was what I had been doing. The longer I worked in the field, the more stuck I felt. I was too far in to turn back.

Then one day, we learned an awful secret about my boss. His immoral behavior created an atmosphere impossible for me to work in, so I walked away. I had to protect my own name.

Since I live in a small town, there were no other insurance jobs close to home. The end of my insurance career was terrifying, but it looked like it was my only option.

The terrible actions of that man became a blessing in disguise. It forced me to look at my life and think about what I wanted to do next. I hated insurance, and I needed to start over.

I was terrified of starting over, and I didn’t know where to begin or what to do. I had no idea how I was going to make it work, but I knew I had to try.

The thought of starting over can be daunting, especially when you don’t know where to begin. The beauty of starting over is that you can go anywhere and be anything you want. You are not tied down by your past. You are not limited by what you have done or what you know.

When you start over, the world is your oyster.

You can take risks and try new things. You can be whoever you want to be. Every road is open to be explored.

The gift of starting over applies to more than just your job. You can change relationships, treatment plans, therapists, and the place you live. Sometimes the healthiest thing to do is stop what you’ve been doing and start something new.

By walking away from insurance, it gave me the time to start my blog and create online content. While writing has yet to be my full-time income, it has brought so many good things into my life. Every response from my wonderful readers gives me a joy…
